Editha Ganis, a  65 year old widow living in Iligan City, the Philippines

Editha went to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, looking for help. She experienced intermittent fever and difficulty breathing; she recalls feeling easily tired doing the simplest tasks.

"At the health center, the doctor advised me to get an X-ray and have my phlegm tested. When the test results came back, the doctor told me I have tuberculosis. He said I needed to take TB medication for six months. The nurse gave me my initial set of medications and placed them in a plastic box", remembers Editha.

Editha is one of the beneficiaries of the KNCV-led and Unitaid-funded project ASCENT, aimed at supporting people on tuberculosis treatment through digital technologies.

Editha expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being part of the project, for receiver her medication and adequate support with the smart pill box,
"Because of these, I was successfully cured of TB."
